Segmenting Lists

All 300 people on your email list are more than likely not going to open your email. The reality is that all 300 people may not be the right demographic for the information you are sending. To get the information to the right people, take the time to segment your email lists. You may choose to segment your email lists based on demographics, psychographics, or sign up dates just to name a few. Segmenting your lists will not only improve your open rates but can also improve click through rates and overall engagement as well.

Mobile Friendly Emails

Make sure your emails are mobile friendly. Studies show that 65% of emails are first opened on mobile devices. It is important that your emails will load quickly on mobile devices and that they are legible on a small screen. Consider the font you use, the colors, and the image sizes in your email before sending them to your mailing list. If they do not load quickly or are hard to read on a mobile device, you run the risk of your email being moved to the trash or overlooked.

Adjust Delivery Times

It is important to consider the time of day and day of the week that you send out emails. The people on your email list are busy just like you and probably have a dozen emails coming into their inbox from several other companies throughout the day. The key is to get your email into inboxes during the time of day that your recipients are checking their emails and have time to read them.
